The Comfrey House

January 2011

Once there was a little mouse who lived in room 8 of the Comfrey House.

Cat came a-knocking, asked

“How do you do?  I am the cat from room 262”

“May I come in to your splendid room 8?”

“Sure” said the Mouse – “It would be great!”

In came the Bee from room 345 – said he “I’m the bee from the Bellophorn Hive.”

“May I come in to your splendid room 8?”

“Sure” said the cat – it would be great!”

Then came the bear from room 999.  Asked “How are you doing?”

They all answered “Fine”.

“May I come into your splendid room 8?”

“Sure” said the Bee – “it would be great!”

The cute fluffy bunny from room 554 came yelling and knocking outside the door.

“May I come into your splendid room 8?”

“Sure” called the Bear– “it would be great!”

The Comfrey House (Continued)

In came the Hunter from room 881.  He came in eating a cinnamon bun.

“May I come in to your splendid room 8?”

“Sure” said the rabbit – “it would be great!”

Then the poor little mouse cried out “I’ve been tricked!”

But the Cat, for the Mouse, was just too quick!

Then the little striped Bee stung the big tabby cat – those two were goners and that-is-that!

The bear ate the bee to steal all his honey,

he got whacked in the face by the cute little bunny.

The Hunter came ‘long and shot at the hare – there’s nothing to rhyme!  I’m in total despair!
